Y for Youth, the Fountain Of

I’ll be honest, guys, this is one post I don’t have pre-written.  Along with Z.

See, life has taken some amazing twists and turns this month, and I thought I was going to have time to write my Y and Z posts.  I didn’t.

So, I was going to do something about the Fountain of Youth and eternal life, etc.

But my brain is fried right now.

So, why don’t you share your favorite stories involving the Fountain of Youth and the controversy of eternal life in the comments?

  1. My novel, Botanicaust, has a group of people who have figured out the genetics of eternal life – bu there is a cost. Their bodies do not age, but brain tissue is different than the rest of your cells, and they develop dementia. I like stories that have a “cost.”

  2. In the world I normally write in, Have, immortality isn’t always a good thing. Those who are immortal are rare, but they are forced to watch everything and everyone they know eventually die. Most suffer from depression and PTS Syndrome. Most aren’t welcome when their immortality is discovered. Of course, in this same world, the longer lived a species is, the likely they are to have to children. It isn’t easy to balance something like this out.

  3. I’m thinking being immortal would be overrated. All the people you ever love die and you’re left with the suffering over and over again. But, it would be great to live long enough to read all the books you want and to gain knowledge that helps keep the world safe.
