A chick-sicle! Now I’ve seen everything.
You have, eh? I’ll have to figure out some new things to post… *cackles*
It all looks green and beautiful. 119 degree heat has pretty much fried my flower patch, but the vegetables are holding on for now!
We’re having a much milder summer this year than we have in a while. This ‘heat-wave’ was just barely breaking 100 degrees, and we’ve finally broken our drought cycle as well, so everything is well-rained-on currently.
I also planted my tomatoes really deep – they’ve got at least 2′ of root systems already established at this point, so they’re very drought resistant at the moment.
It was just hot enough, though, that the chickens were starting to struggle. Hence the giant popsicle!
tbnranch.com has some great tips on caring for chickens in the heat, (and in general). Check it out!
I would love to have chickens. But, I have a dog who would love to have chickens too. Great pics! 🙂 You should submit one or two for our Wordless Wednesday on Oklahoma Women Bloggers.
Um, I now want to be one of your chickens.
