Trusting in the Lord
It’s been a week, just let me say that.
Sometimes, it’s hard to keep your eyes off everything that’s going wrong. Sometimes you know you need to pray, and there are no words.
When I hit that point, the Psalms are almost always a fitting substitute for my own prayers. David, the author of most the Psalms, is definitely a man to be admired because he was described as a ‘man after God’s own heart’ (Acts 13:22), but also because of his writing ability.
To write words that resonate with people thousands of years after your life… how amazing is that?
To you, Yahweh, do I lift up my soul.
My God, I have trusted in you.
Don’t let me be shamed.
Don’t let my enemies triumph over me.
Yes, no one who waits for you shall be shamed.
They shall be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.
Show me your ways, Yahweh.
Teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth, and teach me,
For you are the God of my salvation,
I wait for you all day long.~ Psalm 25:1-5 WEB
