Writing Conferences

Festival of Faith & Writing

Held every two years at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. (6/20/2013 – I have never attended this festival, but hope to one day. Not sure if 2014 is going to happen or not, but perhaps 2016…)

Muse Online Writers Conference

A FREE online conference held annually the second week in October. Fantastic because it’s FREE, and also an entire week long. I have “attended” once, but usually don’t because it conflicts with the Ozark Creative Writers Conference below. My one experience was fantastic, though.

Nimrod Conference for Readers & Writers

Held annually each October at the University of Tulsa, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Writers’ Federation, Inc

Annual Conference every May, usually held in the Oklahoma City area. A very well put-together conference by Oklahoma’s largest professional writing organization. Note – you do NOT have to be a member of OWFI to attend the conference, only to enter the annual contests. They also offer scholarships for people who might be in financially hard spots but want/need to attend the conference. Those are due early in the year, so keep an eye out when new conference info starts going up on the website.

Ozark Creative Writers Conference

Annual Conference every October in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This was the first writing conference I attended, and it is a joy to go back every year. Not to mention, the scenery is beautiful.
